Obituary of Ruth Locke

Locke, Lillian “Ruth”: Peacefully on Sunday, October 12th, 2014 with family at her side, Lillian “Ruth “Locke of Strathroy. Beloved wife of the late George William “Bill” (1990). Devoted mother to Dennis, Karen York, Cheryl Harrington (Guy), Bill (Laurie), Bruce (Amy), Allan (Donna) and Diane Locke. Predeceased by her daughter Wendy Deseck (1979). Grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Rev. Lawrence Hankinson, Lois Kearns and Pat Duralia (John) and sister in law to Grace, Shirley, Elsie Hankinson and Alma Locke Predeceased by siblings Jeanne, Gerald, Maurice, Lorne and infant siblings Joanne and Dale. Ruth graduated from the R.N. program at Strathroy Hospital (1944). Ruth was past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Visitation will be held at Denning Brothers Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe Street West, Strathroy, on Friday October 17th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Veritas Lodge #128 O.E.S. will hold a memorial service on Friday evening at 6:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 6:45 under the auspices of the Daughters of the Nile. The Funeral Service will be held at Strathroy United Church, on Saturday October 18th, 2014 at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery.
