Obituary of Wilma Quinlan

Wilma Quinlan (nee Tyssen) Surrounded by the love of family, Wilma passed away on March 24, 2017. She was born in Neerkant, Netherlands and, after living through World War II, she and her family immigrated to Canada in 1950. She graduated from business college and after moving to Strathroy began working as a legal secretary, where she met her first husband, Arthur Quinlan. Together they had four children: Elizabeth (Dan Dooley), Arthur (Charlene Quinlan), Patricia (Pat Fehr) and Caroline (Allan Norman). Arthur predeceased her in 1978, and in 1991 she married Bud Lennox, who predeceased her in 2001. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Alana Stickland (husband Scott), Caroline Dooley (fiancé Adeel Ahsan), Greg Quinlan, Tim Dooley, Steven Norman, Micah Fehr, Allison Norman and Sarah Fehr, along with one great-grandson, Gregory Stickland. Survived by her sister Helena van der Burg and brother Hubert (Mimi) Tyssen. She is predeceased by her parents Eimericus and Anna Maria Tyssen, her sister Mia and her brothers Henk, John and Pierre Tyssen. Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Monday, March 27th, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Strathroy on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017 at 11 a.m. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association may be forwarded through Denning's of Strathroy. Wilma will in our hearts be "Forever 39".
