Love and light to all of Grandma Aarts family and friends. She was a classy lady and more kind and hospitable than anyone I've ever known. I remember fondly having many sleepovers with Stephanie at the beautiful Aarts manor in Strathroy. We were always treated to delicious Dutch delicacies, meats, and cheeses for breakfast in the sunroom. Grandma Aarts waited on us hand and foot and was always busy cooking and cleaning, but never had a hair out of place. She was a gem. I wish I could have been there to remember her with you all.

Our condolences to John, Frances and Rosemary and families from the DeGroot (Joe + Else) families. Pete and Mary were instrumental in helping our parents after they came to Canada. Pete hired Dad which meant him getting back into the engineering career that he had started in the Netherlands just before getting married to our mom and immigrating to Canada. After they were here for about a year dad was back to his love and our parents were renting a house with Pete and Mary. We grew up with lots of time spent together and eventually back and forth visits between Strathroy and Seaforth where we ended up living. So many great memories of the love and friendship between our parents and families. Pete and Mary certainly always had a special place in our hearts. Tante Mary always had a big smile and a warm hug. You knew you were welcome in her home and there was always coffee or tea, good conversation and long goodbyes. She helped when she was needed and she was a woman with style, inside and out. God bless her as she joins her family in Heaven and may He bless her family left behind.

John, Francis and Rosemary:
So many great memories of our families together on a regular basis growing up. Your parents and my parents became fast and close friends when they came to Canada way back in 1953 and stayed in touch even after we moved from Strathroy to Seaforth. I remember our regular visits back and forth for many years. I always had a special place in my heart for the family but especially your mom and dad who I still saw several times as an adult. I was just thinking of your mom earlier this month as I often did. She really was a special lady who lived a good life with many people who loved her dearly. May she rest in peace with all of her many family and friends who have also left us. Hugs from the other DeGroot children--Peter, MaryLou, Pam, Tanya.
