Obituary of Lorne Schakel

Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Tuesday, October 14, 2003, surrounded by loved ones. Lorne Schakel in his 63rd year, went home to be with his Lord. Loving husband and friend of Sharon for 36 years. Father to Garry and Steven. Survived by his mother, Tina Schakel, Strathroy; brothers Garry (Sandy) Schakel, Strathroy; Fred Schakel (Karen Reynolds), London and sister Angela (Dwight) Thompson, Kilworth. Predceased by his father, Bert Schakel 1997, sister Ymkje Schakel 1951 and brother Gerrit Schakel 1945. Visitation at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Friday, October 17 from 3-5 and 7:30-9:30 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 1 PM at East Christian Reformed Church, Strathroy. Pastor Andrew DeGelder and Pastor Walter DeRuiter officiating. Interment in Strathroy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
