Obituary of William John Townend

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William John Townend of London on January 4th, 2015 at the age of 71. Beloved husband and best friend of Marilyn Townend for 50 years. Loving father of Bradley Townend (Laurie) and Kimberly Champion (Steve). Proud Papa to Kelsey and Emily Champion. Missed by step-grandchildren Sam, Shannon and Brandon. Much loved brother-in-law to Shirley Martin (George, 1988) and Nick Jasek (Dorothy, 2010). Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Ray (1995) and Marion (1990) Townend. Bill retired from Ontario Hydro after 31 years and was an active member of St. Thomas Golf and Country Club for over 30 years. According to Bill's wishes there will be no funeral services. Cremation will take place with a private family service at Strathroy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or Canadian Cancer Society. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 from 1-3pm. Share a memory at www.denning.ca .
