Uncle Ray always had time for us. Whether we were riding on his knee in a tractor, playing cards, shooting a rifle or attending tractor pulls or harness races I always had fun with Uncle Ray. My Dad once noted that kids and pets would always 'swarm around Ray' most probably because he had fun with us too! His warm smile and laugh remain in our hearts and minds now, but we are better men and women as a result.
Dear Donelda & Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I know how much my Mom always enjoyed the get-together so with the cousins...Ray,Donelda, George & Doris, Carl & Donna, my Mom, and Aunt Helen.
I can also remember that There was always a joke between my Mom and Ray as to who was older. I think my Mom won out on that one...by a year!!
I wish all of you comfort and peace at this difficult time. I'm sure you have lots of memories to hold close and cherish.

It is with a heavy heart I would like to sent my condolences to Donelda, Richard, Nancy and their family. I have only fond memories of Ray and the kindness that he showed my mother when my dad died. He was always the first one there to lend a hand when someone was in need and was a role model to many. I remember the time when I use to work for Ray after school and during holidays. My favourite time was lunch. Donelda would make us a wonderful lunch and Ray would sit and tell stories of his younger years. I still think of those stories from time to time. I remember how active he was in the church and still giggle to myself the time he fell asleep during the sermon and did a big snore only to have Donelda give him the elbow to wake him up. When I think of Ray I cannot help but smile. I can just picture Dad with Gord Conkey and Harold Wilson greeting Ray in heaven and asking him what the last gossip is. I am sorry I cannot make it to the funeral but please know I will be there in spirit. Sending you my deepest sympathy.

There aren't enough words to adequately express how blessed we were and how grateful we are to have a lifetime of warm memories and treasured heartprints of visits to the farm, Christmases shared, friendships that surpassed being related and the joy of hearing "Ray, the kids are here!" Thanks Uncle Ray, we have always loved you. You were the best!
My thoughts and prayers are with you. No matter how old a person is it is still a loss as I know, having just lost my Mom this past week. The blessing is we have many years of memories.
