I was a cashier at Wal-Mart and I remember his daughter from Mt. Bridges bringing him to shop. I waited on him the day he turned 100yrs. I always admired how straight and erect he carried himself and how he loved to shop and always dressed so nice. He was such a sincere gentleman. I retired from the store and moved to Port Elgin and never saw him again. You can find peace knowing that he had such a wonderful long life. He will most definitely be missed, but he will always be with you. Thinking of you Linda Barfoot

I want to pass on my sincerest condolences to Uncle Hank's entire family. I have very fond memories of him, I always remember him with his military silver hair brush cut, and showing us around on the farm. It's incredible to know he has lived for 102 years!! I know that he will be missed by everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time Melissa

Our sympathies to the de Vlugt family,,, though we lived a few roads over I never actually met your family but remember the awe of reading your father's/family's story in the East Williams history book---- what hope and faith.... and this endured even after immigration to Canada after WW II with so many other newcomers.... with its struggles and foresight to provide a home and livelihood for your family. What a blessing that you had him for more than 100 years.
