Obituary of James Thomas Meiklejohn

Peacefully passed on December 2nd, 2015 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital in his 78th year. Jim was born in Scotland in 1938. Beloved husband of Sylvia Meiklejohn (nee DeBoer) for 46 special years. Loving father of Deborah (Dave) Owens. Proud grandfather of Amanda and John Owen. Survived by his sister Diana Desadeleer and his brother Walter Meiklejohn (Kathy Hodgkinson). Survived by his brother-in-law Simon (Carole) DeBoer, his sister-in-law Lola (Glenn) Powell, and brother-in-law Gerald (Wendy) DeBoer. Jim will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim served in the Canadian Air Force for 10 years and worked at General Motors Diesel division in London until his retirement. Golf, curling, motor-homing were just some of Jim’s favourite hobbies. At Jim’s request there will be no public visitation or service. A Private Family Service will be held with cremation to follow.
