Obituary of Murray James Thomson

It is with great sadness that the family of Murray J. Thomson announce his passing on April 18th, 2024 at the age of 84. 

Loving husband of 61 years to Alice. Wonderful and devoted father of his children Connie (Shane), Jackie (Mike) and Brian (Julie).  Proud grandpa to his grandchildren Jason (Jessi), Tonya (Trevor), Shari and Mackenzie. Spry and energetic great grandpa to Chloe, Sophia, Charlotte, Niko, Diem and Evan. Beloved brother of Marilyn (Don) and brother-in-law of Carl (Mary).  Grateful uncle to seven nieces Bonnie, Brenda, Barb, Betty, Shannon, Laura, Sarah and their extended families. Predeceased by his parents George and Irene. 

Next to his family, Murray was most proud of his 46 years working at the Arkona Feed Mill and his 40 years as a member of the Arkona Volunteer Fire Department.  Outside of the great amount of time spent taking care of the family farm, he was an avid and devoted fan of both Nascar and the Toronto Blue Jays.

A Celebration of Murray's Life will be held at Dennings of Strathroy, 32 Metcalfe St. W., on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. on what would have been his 85th birthday.  Cremation has taken place.  Interment in Arkona Cemetery at a later date. Donations to charity of your choice.
