Obituary of Michael Granger

In his 83rd year after a valiant battle with advanced Parkinson's Disease and related complications. Survived by daughter Anita Granger, son-in-law Rick Beazley, ex-wife and life-long friend Anna Granger (nee Morra) and dear friends, Ron and Joan Simpson and John and Judy Tolchard. Michael was born June 9, 1929. He came into this world alone but his life was filled with enduring relationships with many dear friends, neighbours, families and colleagues. Namely Jimmy Carson of Toronto, Joe and Cecelia Flynn & family of Willowdale, and the Hart family of Toronto and London, On. He had a lengthy and distinguished career with the Toronto Dominion Bank. As well he had executive involvement with Canada Hydrant Service and Vulcan Hart. The many people who came to know my Dad over the years found him to be strong, determined, sincere, charitable and most of all a reliable friend. Proud Member of the Architectural Conservancy Ontario and for a number of decades the Lions Club of Maple & Bradford. He loved animals, gardening, canoeing, wood carving and antique car restoration. Some of his fondest memories were of leading the Maple Venturers through numerous canoe trips in Northern Ontario. Many thanks to those who contributed to his care over the years, including staff at Restview in Lucan, special care with Mary Laskey and Sharlene Grant and staff at Strathmere Lodge in Strathroy. Dr Jog, nurse Linda Hall and Dr Mithoowani were instrumental in optimizing his health throughout his illness. Friends will be received at 12:30pm on Monday, June 25th at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy. Funeral service to follow at 1:30 at All Saints Parish with Fr. Lucio Couto officiating. Cremation to follow with internment at a later date at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Bracebridge.
