Obituary of Delmar James

Passed away at home in Strathroy on February 10, 2012 in his 72nd year. Del is survived by his wife of 50 years Dian (nee Wagner). Dear son of the late Margaret James Royal (nee Gunness) (2007) and Howard Clinton James (1956) and step-son of Frank Royal (1993). Loving father of Howard and Bernice James of Strathroy and Jim James of Strathroy. He is predeceased by infant daughters Tammy-Lee and Brenda-Lee (1963). Loving grandfather of Samantha James of London, Andrew James of Strathroy, and Cassandra James of London. Brother of Mary Vallieres de St. Real of Manotick, Ottawa, Phillip James (Susan) of Hamilton-Middletown, Ohio, Lynda Blancher (John) of Sarnia, Dr. Michael James (Margaret) of Kamloops, B.C., and the late Edward James (2003) and Thomas James (1990). Brother-in-law of Barb (Roy) Herrington of Strathroy, Len (Tammy) Wagner, Cheryl Yacks, and Jerry (Monica) Wagner of Petrolia. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and especially his dog Smokey. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, hunting, gardening and his stories. He was an active member of the Ontario Racing Commission, grooming and caring for the horses he loved so much. He belonged to the Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 of Strathroy for many years. He and his family were members of St. John's Anglican Church in Strathroy. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 11 am with Rev. Charles Seed officiating. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to your charity of choice would be appreciated.
