Obituary of Ernest Carruthers

Peacefully at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Frances Long and the late N. Frances Bilton. Dear father of Carol (Barry Trott) of Perth, ON and Margaret (the late Larry Fisher) of London. Loving grandfather of Lisa, Lana and Lori (Trott) and Steve and Stacy (Fisher) and great grandfather of 5. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Ethel (Brunkard) Carruthers and Ethel (Stevenson) Carruthers and his brothers Harold, Grant (the late Eileen Platts) and Robert (Clara) of Melbourne. Also loved by the Long family; Paul, Heather, Jonathan, Amanda and Susan. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Thursday, August 18 from 1:30 till 3 PM when a complete funeral service will be held with Rev. Charles Seed officiating. A private interment will take place at Longwood Cemetery, Melbourne at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Strathroy Hospital Foundation or your charity of choice would be appreciated.
