Obituary of Gerry Derks

Passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side, on Friday, May 3^rd, 2019 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Mary Derks for 65 years. Loving father of Anne Marie (Joe Roth) Derks, Albert (Mariette) Derks, Frances (Rick) Howe, Gerald (Ruth) Derks and Carolin Derks. Cherished Opa of Christopher (Amy), Rebecca (Patrick), Tracy, the late Jennifer, the late Jason (survived by Julie), Cassandra (Robert), Amanda (Mike), Michelle (Paul), Gordon (Breanna), James, Laura (Marc), Sarah (Johnny), Rachel (Steve), Lucas (Sherri), Daniel, Nicole and Erica. Great Opa of Myla, Embry, Logan, Bryson, Conner, Nathan, Sophie, Audrey, Evan, Hunter, Alexis, Emily, Gavin, Hayden, Payton and Sawyer. Survived by his brother Peter (Thera) Derks, sisters-in-law Betty Derks, Nellie (Case) De Wit, Betsie Blummel, Jo (Ad) Geenen and Annie Van Den Heuvel, brothers-in-law Leo (Adriana) Van Den Heuvel,  Antoon Van Der Burgt (Rens), Huub (Anja) Van Den Heuvel and Frans (Hanna) Van Den Heuvel. Predeceased by his brother Bill Derks, sister Maria (Herman) Leusink, sisters-in-law Martina (Mathieu) Heckmans and Annie Van Der Burgt; brothers-in-law Harrie Blummel and Mies Van Den Heuvel.

Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Tuesday May 7^th, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at All Saints Roman Catholic Church (124 Front St E, Strathroy) on Wednesday May 8^th, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery.
