Obituary of George Goris

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gerrit Jan Goris (George) announces his passing on June 30^th, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London in his 86^th year after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Johanna (Smink) for 63 years. Beloved father of Betty (Dave) Buis, Jerry (Marilynn) Goris, Nancy (Hubert) Krygsman, Henriett (Dave) Vanderlei, Annette (Jack) Bakker, and Loraine (Rick) Guikema. Predeceased by his son Geoffrey Goris (October 1984). Loved Opa to 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Survived by sisters-in-law Aly Bruinink, Minnie Smink and many nieces and nephews in Canada, and 6 siblings, in laws, nieces and nephews in The Netherlands. George’s life was focused on his Work, Church, Christian School and his Beloved Family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 4^th, 2019 at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5^th at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Community Christian Reformed Church, 22638 Adelaide Road, Mt. Brydges. Pastor Jim Poelman and Tony Vandenende officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Brydges Cemetery.
