Parsons, Leroy Richard 

Peacefully with his family by his side Leroy Richard Parsons passed away at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on July 20^th, 2019 in his 78^thyear. Left to mourn is his wife, best friend and high school sweetheart, Barbara Parsons (Softley) of 54 special years and his children Jana (Bill) Bannister and Craig (Dana) Parsons. Proud grandpa of Carlee (Robert), Jim (Pam), Nissa (Frank), Dan, and Jessie. Lovingly remembered by his brother Wallace (Judi) Parsons, sister-in-law Marion Fenn, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Ross and Lila Parsons, his in-laws Jim and Jean Softley, and his brother-in-law Jim Softley Jr. Leroy enjoyed his companionship with his dogs and his current pug Stella will miss him. Leroy was actively involved in the community as a Valleyview School teacher, Lobo Township fire fighter, Poplar Hill baseball coach, head cook with the Middlesex Cattleman’s Association Beef BBQ, and a member of the Poplar Hill Cemetery Board. Leroy farmed and operated a Well Drilling business in the area for 26 years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24^th, 2019 from 1:00p.m.-4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m.- 8:00p.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A Celebration of Leroy’s life will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, July 25^th, 2019 at 11:00a.m. Private interment will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or the Poplar Hill Cemetery Board.
