Obituary of Maria Gomes

Maria Do Ceu Azevedo Silva Gomes born in Fazenda, Flores, Acores, June 30, 1925 passed away peacefully at Chateau Gardens in London with her family at her side, in her 86th year. Maria was predeceased by her husband Francisco Vieira Gomes (2002). Loving Godmother of Aida Ferreira (Fernando). Also loved by her granddaughters Nonara Henhoeffer (Darryl), Lenita and Gigi and her great-grandson Harrison. Dear sister of Antonio Trigueiro Silva (Otilia) of Portugal, Aida Medeiros (Humberto) and Bernadette Mendonca (Manuel) of Strathroy. Predeceased by her brother Jose Trigueiro Silva, and sisters Inez Freitas and Aurora Gomes. She will be missed by all her nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St. W, Strathroy on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, 124 Front St. E. Strathroy on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Father Lucio Couto officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In memory of Maria, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
