At Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Tuesday April 13, 2010. Melvin Elliott Dowding of Strathroy in his 99th year. Beloved husband of the late Doris Dowding (George) (1999). Dear father of Judy Morgan and her husband Bill of Kerwood and Karen Nichols and her husband Nelson of Strathroy. Grandfather of Jackie Beunen and her husband John, Kim Helkaa and her husband Chris, Andy Morgan and Emma Porter and her husband Scott. Dear great grandfather of Nathan, Mason and Owen Helkaa, Daniel Beunen and Benjamin Porter. Also survived by his sister Irene Gaunt of Sarnia and sister-in-law Kay George of Welland. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Ethel (Elliott) Dowding, brothers-in-law Frank Gaunt, Ken George and his wife Evelyn and Jim George. Visitation will be held at DENNING BROS. FUNERAL HOME, STRATHROY on Thursday April 15, 2010 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm where funeral service will be held on Friday April 16, 2010 at 11 am with Rev. Charles Seed officiating.
