Obituary of Angelina Johanna Backx

Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Angelina Johanna Backx (Janssen) in her 96th year passed away at her daughter’s home on February 12th, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Gerard Backx (1993) and companion to Chris Van Loon (2012). Angelina was the loving mother of Michael Backx (Diane Lajoie), Marian (David) Atkinson, Jane (Earl)Brown, Frank (Toni) Backx, Peter (Michelle) Backx, Nancy (Frank) Moore, Paul (Lynda) Backx and Teresa (Randy) Spensley. Adored and loved by her 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her siblings Marie Stokkermans, Anna Stokkermans, Alphons Janssen, Rev. Frans Janssen, Adrianus Janssen and Paula Van Gorp all of Holland and great granddaughter Charlotte MacNeill (2014). The family would like to thank Dr. Hertzman (Hospice of London) and the St. Elizabeth nurses for their care and support to Angelina in her final days. Family and friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Sunday, February 16th, 2020 from 2-5p.m. Eulogy will take place at 10:45am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Monday, February 17th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend.
