Obituary of Betty Jean Purdy

It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Jean Purdy, surrounded by her family at Strathmere Lodge, on Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 in her 91st year. Dear wife of the late Clarence Purdy (1990). Proud mother of Larry (Catherine) Purdy, Jay (Nilah) Purdy and Tammy deBoer. Cherished grandmother of Marc (Jill) Purdy, Kara (Jarett) Hoglund, Kristy (Jason) Dortmans, Kyle Purdy, Greg (Laura) Deboer and Scott Deboer (Lynette Enright). Loved great grandmother of Dane and Clare Purdy; Bailey, Taylor and Dylan Hoglund; Lincoln Stubbs, Memphis Dortmans and Olsen Deboer. Special Nan of Avery Jones and Chloe May. Betty will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Strathmere Lodge, South West Local Health Integration Network and the Palliative Care team of Dr Copeland, Dr. Parr and Dr. Kopechanski for the exceptional care and love shown to Betty in her short stay there. Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Thursday, February 27th, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will continue at DENNING’S on Friday, February 28th, 2020 from 12 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Private interment to follow.
