Obituary of Stephen Bela Csabonas

Steve Bela Csabonas has succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife and his two children he adored, daughter Sherry and son Steve on March 3rd, 2020. Steve arrived from Hungary in 1955 and lived in Montreal with a sponsor family and achieved many great accomplishments in his life from obtaining a business degree, to working as an executive chef, managing dealerships and helping small businesses grow and succeed. He would always make time to step in and help out wherever needed. Steve was very active and involved in many extra curricular activities, but his family was his number one priority and made sure they were involved in every single one. He was on the ski patrol for 10yrs and took his family on his weekend trips, taught first aid where the kids were guinea pigs for fake wound care, camping and 4x4'ing all over the back country, travelling abroad on cruises and car racing. After he decided to retire from racing, Steve volunteered as a flagman with his wife for Cascar. Steve is survived by his wife of 47 years Susan, his daughter Sherry (Rob) and his son Steve. Steve was also the proud papa to Tyler, Jadyn and Hanna. Steve is also survived by his sister Mary (Pat), his nieces Dawni, Cassandra, Angela, sister-in-law Lori, nieces Brittney and Sierra and brothers-in- law Ed (Nancy) and Pete (Andrea). Steve will be remembered by his extended family Tony and Linda, Hugh and Kim (their sons Jake, Nick and Gavin), Dave, Les and Gloria, and Avril, Christopher(Nadine), Carissa, and Courtney. Steve is preceded by his parents Bela and Anna Csabonas. We would like to thank all the VON Caregivers who were compassionate and dedicated to Steve in the last year, making it possible for him to remain in his own home. A special thank you to Dr Jennifer Parr, Katarina Geroux and Christina Joy. Arrangements entrusted to Denning’s of Strathroy.
