So sorry to hear of Jack’s passing! He was a great Cairngorm neighbour. He was willing to help everyone and in return was helped back. We always had to watch for the chickens on the road by his place when driving by. May he Rest In Peace.

Our hearts go out to all of Jack's family. He was a wonderful, kind hearted man who would do anything to help anyone who needed it. Jack was a huge part of our youth and lucky for me, he remained a part of my adult life as well. I remember my sister Tena and I riding our bikes down to Jack's and climbing one of his fruit trees and sitting there filling our tummies until it was time to go home. Jack tried to teach me to drive the tractor, but alas I wasn't a very good student. He decided it was best to save Dad's kiln instead,. His love of sports always brought him out to cheer the team on. We will miss him. From the entire Grey Family.

Very sad to hear of Jack's passing. I know that he has joined the angels and in a better place. So many fond memories of Jack. I've known him most of my life, since arriving in Canada back in 1980. From him delivering eggs to my family to me going to his home and helping him collect, wash and sell his eggs, driving his tracktor to help bail hay. The countless hours at the ball field, driving our teams to and from ball games in the back of his truck-FUN times! The way he just enjoyed lending a helping hand to all, whether it's transporting equipment to a game, getting the ball diamond prepared for games, helping out at the snack bars, in the arena supporting local hockey teams, to just hanging out reminiscing about old times...Jack was a friend to all. Rest in peace Jack. Your memories will live on. I miss you my dear friend. To the Sumner family, my deepest condolences. So very sorry for your loss. Stay strong and stay well. Carol (Calder) Nwoko

Sending our deepest condolences to John's family. We have many fond memories of John, especially around the ballpark! The ice cream trips in the back of his pickup, the funny jokes he would play on us, and his kind way of always offering help when needed. He was the biggest fan of everyone and everyone was a big fan of his. Thanks for the memories, may you rest in peace John!

So sorry to hear about Jack’s passing. Seems to me he was the last original 10 th concessioner left after my mom passing in Jan 2019-Helen Patterson. Yes many memories of Jack and his cats and oh course his eggs-Mom would just call and Jack would just drop them off on his way to town. A truly wonderful person! Our sympathies to all the family Beth Bennett and Jeff and Josh Bennett

My fondest memories of Jack are of him driving my twin sister and I to our weekly baseball games. He never missed a game that I recall. He also shared many stories, as us kids used to cross the road to help him him Bob collect the sap for the maple syrup. More likely we were just under foot however he always had a smile for us and never complained.
My condolences to the Sumner family.

We ve known Jack for over 40 years He’s the last of an era of older people who’s stories and wisdom cannot be replaced Jack had best memory of anybody I’ve ever known. He could remember weather , names and events from many years ago
Lots of stories of his days cutting hay grinding feed for neighbours , making maple syrup and of course his beloved hens and his many egg customers .
I’m honoured to call Jack a true friend
He will be missed but not forgotten

My heart felt condolences to the entire Sumner family. Like my mom, I have many great memories of Jack. So often, year after year, I paddled back to the woods and asked him if I could help him with the sap. So many hours spent emptying buckets and standing by him as he made the syrup. He was always so patient with me, teaching me as we went along together through the bush. I recall emptying buckets and needing a break and he would smile knowing that this was my cue for "can we go taste the syrup?". So grateful for such amazing memories with Jack, Bob and Fran and I continue to be grateful for all the kindness they shared, showed and offered. Thinking of your family, sending you all many loving condolences.

Sincere condolences to the entire Sumner family. I have very fond memories of being one of Jack's neighbours for many years. He taught me how to milk a cow and collect eggs from under the chickens and wash them for selling. It was a spring ritual, for myself and my children, to join Jack at his 'sugar-shack' behind our place and be a part of making maple syrup. Rest In Peace Jack.

My sympathy to the Sumner family. Our family spent many visits with Jack and his mom and dad as kids. Nearly every Sunday we would take Grandpa Bolton there for a visit while we went to church at Cairngorm. Virginia Pray ( Bolton)
