Deepest Sympathy and our Condolences to you Lois, Anne Marie, Scott and your families, Trudy and family, Karen and Family, in the loss of Bev. He will be missed dearly by so many. Being involved in hockey with our kids, and baseball and his many, many visits to our store, he was just a part of our family, and I am sure many other families too. He always looked out for the kids, would do anything for the ones that needed his advice, his knowledge, his patience, and understanding. He had a heart of gold, but he would set you straight, if you needed it too ! I know - he would do it to me. We will miss seeing him throughout the community, his visits and the treats he would bring with him sometimes. Until we meet again Bev - keeping smiling ! Very nice photo of Bev.

So sorry to hear of Bev's passing. Thinking of you Lois, and of course Karen and Trudy as well. Bought my first propane BBQ from Bev and countless refills. Great experience.
Always enjoyed meeting you two at Delaware where you guys had turn 1 staked out each Friday night. Looking forward to seeing Trudy there this summer if they ever get started.
Also thinking of Bev's mom and dad. They were great friends of my parents, Bert and Doris, thru the Legion. Bev's mom always made a big fuss over us kids whenever she saw us which was quite often as we were known as the Legion brats at all the many annual kid's events, Bev's dad was my foreman when I worked as a student at Downhams' in the spring rush for several years. Always colourful, but great to me.
Sending much love and caring to you all. Sorry the whole community can't be together for you.

Our heartfelt condolences for your loss of a great husband, father, grandfather, coach and all around good guy. He spent many hours doing what he loved from getting up in the wee hours on the weekends to put the skates on with the boys. We had the best 3 years in Strathroy being hockey parents when your whole family was involved with the team- Bev and Scott on the bench, Anne Marie and Lois behind the scenes keeping Bev organized, and keeping the teams sweaters clean and in tip top shape. We did appreciate everything your family did. He will be truly missed.

Dear Lois, Anne Marie, Tim, Scott, Angie and your children: Kent, Brett, Cameron, Lauren and Isaac. Our deepest condolences are extended to all of you at this time of loss and sorrow and it’s our prayer that all of you will sense the presence of Jesus and His precious Holy Spirit during this time of loss.
Bev was always so pleasant and kind to Teri, my children and me while we pastored at Calvary in Strathroy. He always had a kind word to say and was an encouragement to me in ministry. He had a kind “coaches heart” as I watched him interact with the church baseball team when I was able to get to watch some of the games. That kind heart was also displayed to me many times as we interacted in and out of church, he always had a kind word to say.
Teri admired him as he was always willing to help out with Vacation Bible School moving tables and making hot dogs for the kids. He would always be willing to help out with our annual church pork roast taking his turn during the night to watch the pig and would always arrange for the propane which was always such a blessing!
As a pastor I could see him interact with his grandchildren at the church and saw how much they loved and respected him and that he also had the love and respect of his children. Teri and I enjoyed the occasional Sunday night gathering with him and Lois at McDonald’s after church as many would meet there for coffee and a muffin. Today he is in heaven safe in the arms of Jesus. This is the Blessed Assurance that we have, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Be sure that we as a family are praying for all of you during this season of sorrow!
With much love, respect and heartfelt sympathies to each of you:
Rob, Teri, Victoria, (Andrew), Liz and MacKenzie. The Esson family.

Lois, Anne, Scott and their families. Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Bev. Bev or Mr Mackey as I first new him as my first baseball coach and I am sure taxi driver to many of the games. He was a great coach and great person and have many great memories from my childhood. As the years went by and our kids were into sports you could tell that his love of sports, volunteering and coaching was passed down to Anne and Scott. Scott coached our daughter and I could see he loved coaching just as much as his dad. And of course being the sports fan that he was we would be able to catch up with Bev who would welcome us as old friends that he had seen only yesterday instead of a few years that had passed. True Gentleman, he will be missed.

I'll always remember those Friday nights at the Delaware half mile where Bev loved racing and we would chat before i would start announcing there and it was just a pleasure to know him and chat with him whenever the opportunity came about. He will be missed very much. Thoughts and prayers to Lois and the entire family.

Mackey family, you’re all in my thoughts and prayers, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve been cheering him on, and he gave it all he had. I’ll forever have memories of hockey, baseball, and the love he had for watching his Grandkids play sports. He was a special guy that meant a lot to sports fans young and old in Strathroy and he’ll be so missed.
