Ivan held the distinction of being my oldest cousin. He was generally quiet which I took as being a good listener! He worked as a mechanic and I enjoyed being in his garage!
He was the first person I knew that had an early jet ski, a snowmobile and a 6 wheel ATV!
I rode with him to Camp Conawonga one year and we explored some logging roads with his ATV which I thought was pretty cool!! I was about 13 at the time.
He was a wealth of knowledge on mechanical things which I envied!
I am sad that he has passed away, but am glad that I have many fond memories of him....❤️

Ivan was a quiet soul with a kind heart. His contributions to helping others in his community was greatly appreciated even though his life had many challenges! Always looked forward to aunt Isabelle and uncle Ivan coming for a visit on a quiet Sunday afternoon. We often did some day trips here and there with Ivan, Isabelle, mom,dad Linda and myself (the girls) such good memories growing up. With deepest sympathy my thoughts and prayers are with you. Ivan was a very special person, his great empathy and huge heart for others was boundless, coupled with a keen interest in the lives of others. For years, he was a steadfast and loving caregiver to both of his parents, Fred and Margaret, and later his wife, Isabel. We share in your grief and extend our deepest sympathy to Ruth and the entire Berdan family.
I have so many memories of shared time together at family events. I remember his enjoyment of photography many years ago, hours spent in his garage, playing cards and summer games at the beach or bbq’s. His quiet smile and his stories once he got going. I’m thankful we were able to visit my last trip home. My deepest sympathy to all of his family. I will miss Ivan.
