Rod and Caroline,
We are shocked and saddened to hear of Kurtis's passing. Our hearts ache with yours. We know Benjamin and Kurtis had a special relationship during the high school years where they would "jam" and make music together, often at your home. Know that we are lifting you up in our prayers daily. Praying that you may experience the eternal promise of Jesus' comfort, strength and peace during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Fred and Cyndi

I am SO very blessed to have crossed paths with Kurtis during our time at Georgian College. His humble, loving nature radiates his light whenever you were near. His passion for music and creating will leave a mark on our hearts forever.
I am so grateful to have met you, Kurtis. I will never, ever forget that radiant smile of yours.
I pray His Spirit will be with us always! Sending all of my love, thoughts, and prayers to you and your family.

Dear Rod and Caroline,
I have no words for you that can ever come close to the right ones that a parent needs to hear when they're saying a final goodbye to their child, because a parent should not have to do that. I wanted to tell you that when I saw the picture from the news, I saw my Dad's eyes looking back at me. I didn't know Kurtis- his life story is his and yours to hold. But I know those eyes. And when you laid your beautiful boy to rest, I kind of pictured him showing up at the entrance to that perfect, painless, beautiful place that all of God's creations go, and being greeted with an arm around his shoulder by someone who would get him exactly. He'd get that firm Pete squeeze around one shoulder, someone who'd already been there awhile, and who could show him around- bring him to where the music jams happen, and show him where Aunt Jenny is, and sort of take him under his wing and get him comfy up there. And he'd know instantly that he was understood and loved, and perfect, and beautiful, because he is God's, and because he was full of all of your love, and he'd know he was never alone.
Love to your fam in this horrible, awful time. May you feel surrounded in love,
Dara Douma

My sincerest condolences go out to the entire group of Berg family and friends.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kurtis during our journeys together in the Graphic design program. During that time I met a beautiful human with a great deal of passion for music and creativity. Kurtis and I worked on numerous projects together and bonded over our love for Rock. His initial shyness was out shone by the happy loving energy he exuded when walking into a room. I will never forget meeting up to walk around campus weekly to talk for hours about the things we bonded on. He was someone who made you smile with a laugh I will never forget.
I will miss you dearly my brother. It’s times like these I wish we had followed through with our facebook plans to meet up. But I guess it will just mean that much more to us when we meet again. I love you buddy! Heaven gained an angel too soon but I know you’ll be looking down on the ones you love sharing your beautiful melodies for the ones you touched in your life.
Rest in paradise Kurtis, you will be missed but never forgotten ❤️

I am deeply saddened to hear of your passing Kurtis, and know that you will never be forgotten. I've known Kurtis since I was in college, and when I worked at him with our previous company. He was kind, talented and very quiet, but when we got him excited about music - he was ready to chat.
You will not be forgotten Kurtis.
