Marilyn and I are so very sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. We send you our deepest condolences. I remember both of your parents when we were in high school and I .always thought they were very nice people.
Mr. Doug was such an amazing neighbor. Our family had come to love Mr. Doug when we moved in. He was always sharing story's and loved to stop and chat with us all the time. Mr.Doug was our 4year old son's favorite person as he used to lift our son up and let him ride on all his tractors. They used to share lots of laughs as the pretended to drive them all. Our neighborhood will not be the same without hearing the sound of Mr. Doug's truck backing out or into the laneway. Our son would run to the window and get excited cause Mr Doug was home.
He will never be forgotten.

On July 22, 2020 I happened to stop in to visit Doug on his front porch. He was cheery and we chatted about some of the people we went to school with and that was eons ago. He was always a nice person. He was telling me about all the lawnmowers and other things he liked to fix for people. His last words to me were, "Don't be a stranger and I will welcome your visit any time."
I am so happy that I stopped that day to visit. May good memories sustain Doug's family during this sad time.
