My deepest condolences to the Paine family on Glenn's passing.
I grew up knowing him as he and my father Woody Lambe were tight in the sheep community. He was always a character and I remember most of all how fast he could shear a sheep, the twinkle in his eye and his hearty laugh.
I'm sure he and my dad are now sharing a few stories together. My his memory be a blessing to you all.

To Glenn's family, I send my heartfelt condolences.
I met Glenn through Dan Skinner approximately 20 years ago. We hunted together on occasion and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. Hands down, Glenn's unique personality and outlook on life made him one my all time interesting human being to talk to! He was the salt of the earth and I remember thinking how genuine he was. He was living his life on his terms and that was so refreshing!
I admired his enthusiasm for nature and animals. He never hesitated to share his knowledge with me and you could tell he enjoyed every minute.
As I reflect on memories of Glenn and our times together, I realize how lucky I was to have had the opportunity to meet him.
Rest in peace my friend

To all of you, Mrs. Paine( sorry I am old school ) Thom, Vicki, Lindsay and Cassie
For starters, I am so sorry for your loss. A life lived and remembered. Wow what can I say about your dad....our neighbour, our sheep shearer, sheep whisperer, hunter of stray dogs who threatened our herds, and father to great kids!! I will never forget the game hung in the trees, the time spent on the gator, animals everywhere and the basic ruff and gruff of your dad. The write up about his life and who he was, it is so true and I am sure whoever reads it and knows your dad will say the same! Well done, such a great tribute! Can honestly say my fondest and funniest memory of him was at a get together at your house and he asked if I would like a drink,( I was of age :) ) I said "yes, I will have a whiskey", I think I elevated into his rank of favourite people right then!! :) He was such an individual , who kept true to himself and what he wanted. You are all beautiful people. What a legacy he leaves. Hugs and peace to you.

We always thought Glenn was ahead of his time. He was “Duck Dynasty” before there ever was a duck dynasty. We always said that Glenn could have had his own reality tv show. There are so many Glenn-isms that we all know so well. “Rrrrightt” “Come give me a kiss/hug” - how he likes his drink, that wheezy Glenn laugh we all can hear if we just close our eyes!
We cherish the gifts he gave us over the years......expecting nothing in return. We’ll never forget walking into the house and the smell - that smell - when the turkey eggs Glenn gave us to incubate in our basement exploded. We laugh about it now!!! We still have the egg candler he made for us even though we have long stopped incubating eggs. One day maybe we will pull it out for our grandchildren and think of Glenn and tell them the story of the legend of Kerwood!!!! A man who lived by his terms. You gotta love ❤️ that!!!! Thinking of all of you.......and wishing you all our love!

What a great eulogy, and wonderful memories of such an amazing person. One of my favourite phrases is yup yup it’s momma bear got to go!
I know our family, the Vail’s and Wardell’s have great memories of Glenn either coming to shear sheep or just stopping by for a visit! He was always proudly talking about all four of his kids. Some of my best sheep were the 5 Suffolk cross ewe lambs I purchased from him. He will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of meeting him. Our condolences to Lynda and family,
Sean Wardell

God definitely threw out the mold when he created Glenn Paine. What a guy. Glenn loved his family, loved his friends, loved to hunt and trap, loved to visit, loved to tease my wife Pam, loved to tease Annie Sanders, loved to discuss the finer points of sheep and poultry and rabbits. Glenn knew every corner of Ontario, every short cut, every side road, he never looked at a map. He knew half the farmers in Ontario and where they lived. Glenn never forgot a name, once he met you, and he knew everyone's kids and their names and what they were doing. Glenn was one of the toughest men I have ever known, even well into his 70's he was able to keep up with the kids when hunting or shear sheep for hours...one of the toughest jobs going. Glenn was generous to a fault, he would give you the shirt off his back. If you needed a helping hand with livestock or anything, Glenn was the first one on the scene. Many of us in this neighbourhood are feeling an enormous loss at Glenn's death, things will never be the same. Never will I see him pulling into my lane for another great visit. Our kids loved him, we loved him. I am honoured to call him my good friend, as are many others. Glenn, I expect you to have all the good deer and turkey hunting areas in heaven figured out for us for when we get to rejoin you one day. God Speed my friend.
All our love, Doug, Pam, Jared, Meghan and Ryan McLean

I met Glenn a few years ago at the Wyoming fair, our club was hosting a show (which was more of a display of our birds and a few kids entries) before the show I get a call from this Glen guy and he entered about 100 chickens and ducks .oh boy ... I guess we need to bring a few more cages. we chatted throughout the day and had a refreshment or two and I was really impressed of how he loved his animals and cared for them. since then we’ve looked forward to seeing each other at different shows and sales he always brought me a Cesar or two. A couple years ago he made me a birdhouse which I will cherish.last fall I acquired some sheep which Glenn said he would love to come over and help me sheer, well this spring was a bit of a mess with the Covid and all and I heard he’s been sick so I didn’t call him which I regret now. when I was a kid I asked my father if there were going to be animals in Heaven he told me that whatever makes me happy will be in Heaven . so, Glenn, if you can read this take care of all those animals for me and I’ll give you a hand when I get there

From a young kid Glenn was always around shearing sheep or just stopping by at all hours for a beverage and something to eat lol!! Until the phone would ring and it was mamma bear and it was yup yup “ got to Go” I'm gone”
Glenn O you always took the time to show us how to work with our 4-H animals and how to play ball and just how to be a good neighbor!!

Where to start...Glenn started to shear our sheep about eighteen years ago. He would start in the morning and finish at some point in the day. Glenn got “thirsty” very quickly and we would stop for a “refreshment”. Some of our best conversations and memories were in that bank barn.
I can tell you he Loved his family and his life. His quick humour was made up for in his slooooooow driving. Seriously, he drove so slow, but you have to love the guy. He definitely drove to his own beat, and did things his way.
I will miss our conversations. Glenn was always super kind and generous to me.
I now look outside our pasture and see all the beautiful bird houses he made and see all the birds and their babies...and think of Glenn. I know he’s flying. I hope he stops and says hello to Quinn, because I know Quinn will be waiting to see him.
Love you, Glenn.

Glenn was very good to me most of my life. I was a young shepherd with my own flock of oxfords at 12 years old and learning the hard way. As a daughter of a dairy farmer I now know we had much in common. He often helped and offered advice, stopped in and even came to shear. I would always admire his animals in many different barns of brigden fair and he was a judge almost everywhere I went for. I am sad to see he passed away. I always enjoyed our visits. I am very sorry it's a great loss
