Photo 3 I took in 2005 when he and tante Toni arrived at Schiphol airport in Holland for a holiday in the old country.

Leonard or Len as I like to call him was a person that didn't just read text, he studied it often line by line! No wonder that he knew so much about nature, especially trees and shrubs. His calling in life should have been that of a botanist and had he been born under different circumstances way back then, he might well have been.
How could I ever forget the day that we walked together along the park-like shore of Lake Nipissing on the doorstep of North Bay, Ontario. He literally knew the names of every tree, plant, or brush as we walked past them. Even took a bite out of a specimen plant's fruit while ensuring me that is was palatable. That was not all, as he also knew each one's Latin name. The world has lost a specialist unknown to most but I'm happy to have been able so share some of his wisdom.
