We learnt with great sadness the sudden passing away of our dear friend George Jacob. We had been close friends with his wife Molly and the family since we came to Canada in 1985. Over the years our friendship blossomed to an extent that we, his family and four other families, formed a close knit pot luck group. We met at least monthly and enjoyed every moment of our get together. We stayed in touch after they moved to Strathroy from London. We visited him and Molly in early October and little did we realize that it would be our last meeting with Jacob (a name he would prefer to be called). Jacob you will always be in our minds and heart. Rest In Peace dear friend. Our heartfelt condolences to Molly, Gail, Scott and the family, Benoy, Angela and the family.

We feel so very blessed to be able to call George Jacob our friend. Molly and I ( Brenda )were work friends for many years. When George and Molly moved to strathroy we frequently got together and Brian and George became instant friends. We spent many hours discussing things from real estate to the study of the bible. He was a great badminton player and introduced Brian to the game. He often told me how improved a player Brian was becoming. We enjoyed sharing Indian food together. One meal we made together at our place along with samosas made by Brian and Molly.
George was a kind, gentle man who with his passing leaves an empty space in our lives.
Molly,Gail,Scott,Benoy,Angela and all the grandkids we are so very sorry for your loss. His memory lives on in all of you.
His family was his life.

What a perfect picture of George you used for his obituaryI It captures him perfectly - his kindness, his love of life and his gentleness.
We shared a backyard with George and Molly for almost 30 years and we enjoyed a wonderful friendship.
George loved the outdoors, He loved his backyard and he also loved a great sale. There is no better example than the hedge he planted. White Rose Nursery was closing many years ago and George set out to plant a hedge at the back of his yard. He planted trees that were different species, sizes, colours and shapes. He drove across the city in pursuit of amazing deals on plants. It is a most eclectic hedge but he proudly told us how much money he had saved!
No plant was ever safe from George’s spade. He planted trees and would move them 2, 3 or more times before he found the perfect spot.
When our local Freshco opened they advertised white sugar at 49 cents, George purchased 8 bags. A month later he asked if I wanted any white sugar. He admitted he and Molly never ever used white sugar. Gail didn’t want any and Molly forbid him to pack it in their luggage to take to Ben and Angela so he was looking to give it away. Even though he had absolutely no use for it, he was still pleased at how little he paid.
George loved being outside. He loved his family. He loved Canada. We enjoyed so many conversations in the backyard!
George planted an apple tree in the backyard and each and every time the grandchildren came to visit, he took them out to see it. That apple tree remains in the backyard and it is a daily reminder of George, from the beautiful flowers in the spring to the apples in the fall. The young couple who are living there now, actually bought the house because of that old apple tree!
Hugs to Molly, Gail, Scott, Ben, Angela, and the grandchildren. We are very saddened by George’s death. You have lost a loving, caring, fun loving, wise family member.

Dear Kunjandamma Aunty and family,
We are truly saddened to hear of Chackochen Uncle's untimely passing. We have so many memories of Uncle and the rest of the family and he had such a close relationship with Appa (Mathew Achen) and Amma (Ponnamma) till the end. His calls with Appa were a weekly affair and brought stimulating conversations that they looked forward to. I remember especially Uncle and Aunty's loving smiling faces with which they always greeted us and the good times we spent at family conferences. He will be missed.
May you find the strength and support that you need to get through this difficult period.
Love from Ponnamma, Bejoy, Renu, Anika and Tarun

I had the privilege of playing badminton with George - he was a very good player... he was always ready to play, and if we socialized a bit too long, he would encourage us to get going again - he never sat.
RIP George. We will miss you at badminton. My deepest condolences to the family.

Many of the members convey their condolences to the family. He was a very good friend of our family. Mary and I (kunjumon) express our heartfelt condolences to Kunjandamma, Gail and family and Binoy and family. Hema, Hemanth and Hemlin are sad to hear about uncle's untimely departure. They express their condolences to Gail, Binoy and aunty "kunjandamma" . May the peace that comes from the memories shared comfort you today and the days ahead. We met George and Molly at Strathroy United Church just a year ago. He was very welcoming and always ready with a smile to talk to me and my husband. He certainly was one of the people we missed seeing due to Covid. Very happy to have seen both George and Molly at their granddaughter's confirmation recently. Would have enjoyed playing a game of badminton with him.
Our hugs and prayers to his family. We will miss him.
