Dear Shirley and Rick and family and All of Bea and Jack's family, So sorry to hear of Doris' passing . She was a delight. I saw her when I was working and had a patient at Sprucedale. We "played' cards for a few moments. I have such fond memories of some childhood romps at Grandpa and Gramma Zavitz when I came with Linda to visit. Loved that rocking thing by the back door. ! I’m so happy to have had the pleasure of knowing Doris. She was a wonderful woman and a great community member. I was honoured to have taken over from her the Poplar Hill/Coldstream community news column at the Strathroy Age Dispatch...I had big shoes to fill! I hope I did her proud. Rick, Shirley and families Your Mom loved life. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed everything she did. She loved playing euchre. I loved her stories when she told the ladies at Euchre club that she use to play 4 handed euchre by herself and never cheated. Treasure all the memories, nobody can take those away from you. After moving to Strathroy ten years ago we lost touch with some our Coldstream friends, but I still have fond memories of your mom. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She taught us so much and was always so welcoming when we showed up on her porch with a special flower we’d picked, or just to say hi and hear one of her many stories.
