Obituary of Evelyn Marie Ballantyne

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our dear Grandma Lou, Evelyn Marie Ballantyne on Monday, Dec 21, 2020.  She leaves us with heavy hearts, but we know she had a wonderful life throughout her 97 years.  She leaves behind her cherished son, Ross Ballantyne. Predeceased by her husband Lou in 2006 and her beautiful daughter Nancy in 1999.  Son-ln-Law Grant Oliver (Rhonda) will miss her dearly, as will her granddaughters Shannon MacDonald (Scott) and Cheryl Oliver, and grandson Scott Oliver (Sandy). Not many are lucky enough get to say they are a Great Grandma or even a Great Great Grandma, but Marie did for Dan Oliver (Alicia), Derek Oliver (Lindsay), Nolan MacDonald, Ryan and Lilah Oliver.  She was also loved by not only many nieces, nephews and cousins, but all who met her felt an instant connection and would call her Mom or Grandma Lou. 

We all take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is most likely having a caesar party with Grandpa Lou and Nancy right now, and playing cards (winning as always). A special thank you to the VON Palliative care team who made Grandma Lou’s last days comfortable.

 A private service will be held on December 24, 2020 at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
