We had the pleasure of being close neighbors to both Madonna and Garnet for many years in Pembroke. They were such sweet kind people. So happy to have known them.
Farewell Madonna. Rest in peace dear lady.

On December 31st, with loved ones at her side our sweet Grandma was called home. She was a daughter- a sister- a wife- a mother- a grandmother and a friend to so many. She had such inner strength and an unbreakable faith in God that helped her through lifes challenges. The love she had for her family was so strong. Adam and Ryan she held them up-so proud-always bragging to her friends and the Nurses about what amazing grandsons she had and how she was so lucky to have them in her life.
My Dear-we were the lucky ones. Mercedes-oh how Madonna was so proud of you-becoming a Nurse "just like her sweet Bernie"
Rest in Peace Madonna.

Please accept the condolences of another girl who grew up in Fort Coulonge long ago.
Madonna and I were friends as young teens and I recall a little store on Main St with her kind mother at the counter. One day the store closed and the Bourbonnais were gone. Until your tribute to her passing appeared in today's Ottawa Citizen I'd occasionally wondered where but time passed and the interests of high school & later life consumed us both.
Your love and respect for Madoonna shines through the announcement and confirms for me the love, energy and music she must have given to you all.
May such great memories stay with you now.
Sincerely,
Joan P L

So Sorry to hear of Aunt Madonna's passing. Aunt Madonna and Uncle Garn shared a lot of time with my husband and myself especially at the camp site. We spend many summers in the boat and telling stories around the camp fire. Aunt Madonna could tell amazing ghost stories that would terrify my husband...Lots of good laughs. We speak of her often and of her unique personality. RIP. Please notify us when her service will be held her in Pembroke. David and Sharon Anne Cochrane.
