Obituary of Pauline Mary Looman

 

It is with heavy hearts the family of Pauline Looman announces her passing at Strathmere Lodge, surrounded by her family, on January 25th, 2021 at the age of 84.  Pauline was the beloved wife of Marinus Looman for 60 memorable years.  Pauline was a loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother to John (Connie) Looman of Thedford and their children Jason (Candice) and their children Jaida & Kayden, Adam, Ashley (Brad), Allison (Luke) and Austin; Jamie (Sue) Looman of Strathroy and their children Britney, Amanda, Michelle (Neil) and Rick; Karen (Steve) Sanders of Watford and their children Dylan, Jack, Bryce and Luke;  Bryan (Carrie) Looman of Toronto and their children Georgia, Romée and Sunder; Brenda (Mike) Sleegers and their children Brooke, Lauren and Kyle.  She is survived by her sisters Mary (Ted) Vanos, Nellie (Joe) Boere and Joanne Boere.  Also, by her in-laws Ria Rops, Nettie Rops, Truus Looman, Joop & Corrie Looman, Toos Looman along with many adored nieces and nephews.  

 

Predeceased by her parents Martin & Catherine Rops and parents-in-law Johannes & Geertruida Looman; her brothers Harry Rops, Ben Rops, brothers-in-law Bill Boere, Bertus Looman, Cor Kromwijk, Gert Looman, Gert Voorend and Luuk Looman; and sisters-in-law Grada Looman, Grada Kromwijk and Toos Voorend. 

 

Pauline was well known for her love of family and her faith through her countless hours with the Catholic Women’s League. She enjoyed gardening, biking, playing cards and other volunteering endeavours her and Marinus pursued through their retirement years.  

 

Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday January 29th, 2021. Registration is required as we have limited capacity at the funeral home due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please click on the link below to register or call 519-245-1023 for further information. For those who are unable to attend, the family will be having a Memorial gathering in August 2021. There will be a private funeral on Saturday January 30th, 2021 for the immediate family at 11:00am with an online livestream available for anyone who would like to view.  The livestream can be viewed by clicking here. Memorial donations to Strathmere Lodge Auxiliary or the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
