Muriel was unique. She was a woman who knew who she was and lived true to who she was. She was completely comfortable in her skin. She was intelligent, curious and proudly eccentric.
We worked together for many years and while we often had divergent views she was a trusted and valued colleague. Even though we haven’t been in touch often since her return to New Brunswick, I will miss her teasing and bright smile.
To those who are close to her I send my sincere condolences for the loss of a marvellous woman.

My sincere condolences to the family on the loss of our dear friend Muriel. She was 'one of a kind', and as others have said, she was feisty, but she was also, kind, fair and brutally honest. I have many fond memories of working with her. There are many stories of all the times we had together. Muriel and Chuck opened their home at the lake in NB to which we truly enjoyed spending time with them. One thing I truly appreciate, is her choice of alternative medicine, especially homeopathy, as our family has all benefited from that.May you rest in peace as we will treasure all the beautiful memories of her.
Sincerely,
Denise Norman

Muriel was feisty and opinionated, but a wonderfully caring and kind person. We worked together at CWC and if any one of our "family" even hinted at ill health, Muriel scurried off to her natural health books and later to the internet. The next day she'd have a remedy - whether it was wanted or not!
We worked together at a time when the union was going through massive organizing drives and Muriel's competence and willingness to give more than was required of her will always be appreciated. We were all delighted when Muriel and Chuck (Glenn) found each other. She turned his life around and he made her a more complete person.
Fikret and I regret that we lost touch after we retired, but will remember her always.
May she rest in peace.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Muriel. I too was a colleague who worked with her for several years. I must admit that we had our differences but I always knew that her heart was in the right place. She made her mark.

I am so sad to hear of Muriel’s passing. We were colleagues for many years since she was hired by the union CWC back in 1978. I also worked with Glenn Pattinson. He was my boss and I would like to think I was instrumental in bringing the two of them together. Muriel was caring and always had a natural remedy to help with our ailments. I am so sorry that Alzheimer’s took her down. She is gone but will not be forgotten.
