Douglas Lambert

Obituary of Douglas William Robert Lambert

Peacefully, with his family by his side, Doug Lambert of Strathroy, passed away on Sunday, February 14th, 2021, 2 weeks before his 78th birthday. Doug was the beloved husband of Doris Lambert (Wardell) for 54 years and proud father of 3 daughters, Melanie (Les) Toth of Mt. Brydges, Michelle (Rob) Gros of Strathroy and Jennifer (Greg) Dawson of Corunna. He cherished his 6 grandchildren, Julia, Benjamin and Avery Gros and Jacob, Emily and Andrew Dawson. He is survived by his brother Ronald and in-laws Arnold (Audrey) Wardell and Ray (Joan) Wardell.

Predeceased by his parents William and Vera Lambert and 3 sisters Dorothy, Betty and Patricia.

Doug was a truck driver most of his life and probably enjoyed most of the 25 years he had the garbage contract for the town of Strathroy. He enjoyed meeting people and had great employees to work with. He also belonged to the Optimist Club and coached several teams in minor hockey.

In retirement, he took up golf and met many new friends. You would see him at Caradoc Sands almost every day of the week from the time it opened in Spring to closing in Fall.
