Obituary of Gordon Nisbet
B.A., L.L.B. Passed away peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Monday, April 20, 2009, Gordon Stuart Nisbet in his 90th year. Loving husband of Jean Corneil-Nisbet and the late Marian Nisbet (nee Corneil) (1990). Beloved father of Brad (Pat) Nisbet, Lori (Peter) Kofman and step father of Bill (Connie) Corneil, Bev (Denise) Corneil and Greg (Terri) Corneil. Special grandpa to Tricia and Richard, Scott and Laura, Jordan, Mikaela, and 4 step grandchildren. Also loved by great-grandchildren Matthew, Alicia, Peyton and 1 step great-grandchild. Survived by brothers Don (Mary) of Wardsville and Hugh (Dorothy) of Dorchester. Gord graduated from the University of Western Ontario, majoring in Economics and Political Science. After his World War II service in the RCAF 4 Group 76 Squadron, Gord continued his studies at Osgoode Hall. He was "Called to the Bar" in 1948 and then practised law in Windsor until retirement. Gord was an active member with the Vocal Federation (Barbershop), Strathroy. He also had a passion for golf and curling and took a keen interest in his family. Cremation has taken place. At Gordon's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A family graveside service will take place at a later date.
