Our prayers and condolences to Michelle, Mike, Jon and your families. What memories we have of your dad squishing us all into the black blazer to take us to school, listening to The Righteous Brothers on an 8 track. He was quiet but had those sharp one liners that you had to listen carefully to hear. He took pride in everything he did like the skating rink he built beside the house on Victoria where many pick-up games were played by the neighborhood kids. Faith in the Lord was his solid foundation. May you have peace knowing he and your mom are home at last. God Bless. ❤️ Alecia, Martha, Tim and Bruce Lambert

I am so sad to learn today of Walt's passing. I could write a book on the times we had at Union Gas. Most recently Walt came to Florida and stayed with Kathy and I for a week of golf , bike riding and touring. A truly great man , husband , father ,grand father and great grand father. May you and Sandy rest in peace in heaven.... your friend Mac

I was heartbroken to hear of Walt’s passing. He was such a mentor to Bill especially in our younger days. Bill admired his athleticism and Christian example so much when he was playing ball with him in Poplar Hill and on other teams. We vacationed with them in Florida in 2007. Three of us played golf almost daily while Sandy stayed at the villa to read and prepare meals (she said she enjoyed it ! ) I wish I had pictures of Bill and Walt playing ball in the eighties with their white knee socks with colour bands !
Walt’s musical talents were very much appreciated by both of us and of course he had the nicest wife !
My deepest sympathy goes out to all the family.

We remember both Sandy and Walter fondly as they so lovingly opened their home to us when we came through Strathroy on our home ministry assignments over the years. Their interest in and passion for missions was always an encouragement to us. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family. May the peace of Christ be with you.

Walter has been our neighbour for the past few years. New to Strathroy, he made us feel welcome, always taking his time to stop and share a hello. Walter’s greetings never came without a smile. On one occasion this past winter, they even came with a playful snowball (followed by fatherly advice to dress more appropriately for the cold weather). Walter was a sweet man and a kind soul, and his absence will be sorely felt. Our deepest condolences to all of Walter’s family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
You are already missed, dear man.

To the entire Waun family and Carl & Linda. Very sorry to hear of Walters' passing. We were fortunate enough to be neighbors of Walter and Sandy on Victoria Street some years ago. They were busy renovating the old yellow brick home to it's former glory, and raising their young kids just like we were. On neighborhood walks we would often chat about the challenges of renovating old houses as ours was just about the same vintage. To say they were warm and friendly would be an understatement.
Walter always had the "coolest" car on main street so maybe that's where the nickname came from.
As a child I remember Walters dad Ray visiting our home regularly He was a true gentleman, and so was Walter.

Our very sincere condolences to all of the family. Walter and Sandy were very well known and thought highly of by our family. Brother Ron McLeod worked with Walt for many years. My brother Bob and myself played fastball with Walt with the Strathroy Jets. Walt was a great athlete and had a wonderful sense of humour. Your many years of memories will hopefully help all through this difficult time.

Our sincere condolences to the Waun family.
Belinda and I got to know Walt and Sandy through our association with Bethel Baptist Church but got to know them personally through our association with Cuba Outreach Ministries.
Walt and Sandy over 25 years ago were part of the founding members of COM.
We come to appreciate his council and wisdom as we worked together over the years serving.
Walt will very much be missed but we rejoice in his reunion with his true love Sandy in the presence of His Lord and Saviour.

Walt and Sandy were the first two people to warmly greet us to Bethel when we first attended, and invited us to lunch at their house. They were one of the reasons we decided that Bethel would be our home church at the time. Sam and I had never experienced such a quick welcome and display of God’s love in other churches we had attended when we had moved to London. I enjoyed the many times I was blessed to work with Walt in children’s ministries (daycamp, Sunday School here and there, nursery). And also Walt was the only person that Samantha, as a baby, would go to in the nursery when she went though her “make strange” phase. She adored him. We are rejoicing that he is in heaven with our Lord and Sandy. But we know this will be a deep loss for the family. Praying for comfort and strength for you all in the days ahead. Tanya Kuehl

Wishing all of Walt's family my heartfelt condolences. I got to know Walt from being on the Cuba Outreach Ministries committee. He was a man of quiet strength. You knew when he gave his opinion it was solid and that it would be right in the eyes of the Lord. He lived by example and was one of the solid pillars of the church. There was something reassuring about his presence whether it be in a meeting, in the kitchen, or on stage. I was glad to know him and will miss having him around.
