Obituary of Clara Overbeek

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.At Caressant Care Nursing Home in Courtland on Friday March 27, 2009, the Lord took to himself his child, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Clara Overbeek (Hoekstra) in her 95th year. She will be sadly missed by her children Tom (Hilda) Overbeek of Orangeville, Ann Amsinga (her partner Fred Brearly) of Ingersoll, Bryan (Teresa) Overbeek of Bala, Annette DeBoer of Toronto, Judy (Rick) Lenting of Strathroy, George (Paola) Overbeek of Strathroy, Clara (Ron) Thibodeau of Courtland. Predeceased by her husband George (1989), sons-in-law Jack de Graaf (1968) and Gerrit DeBoer (2005), and great-grandchild Sophia Rayne Overbeek (2008). She will be missed by her 26 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews in Holland. Clara is resting at Denning Brothers Funeral Home Stratrhoy. A private family funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Interment to follow in Strathroy Cemetery.
