Such sad news to hear of Donna’s passing. She was a treasured volunteer of mine and the VON walk would not have been the same without her tireless work getting sponsors, prizes and making sure the BBQ was perfect -with Robins help of course. What a role model for how much one person can do for a community. I hope you’re up there still crackin orders to your hearts content Mrs. Patterson. Hugs and condolences to Robin and all the family on this sad loss. Julie Simpson . Xoxo

Such sad news to come back to, after vacation, to hear of Donna's passing. What an outstanding person she was and what a huge loss for her family, friends and community. Always a hard worker, but more importantly she was kind, caring and giving. Donna was always there to help if you needed it.. I worked with her at VON and I cannot recall how many volunteer appreciation events in the past where Donna would donate food (delicious food too) or whatever was needed. I remember asking her once if she knew where I would be able to order good coleslaw and baked beans from for the appreciation event and she said “from me, I can make it.” and she did just that. The day of the event, Donna pulled in carrying these huge trays of coleslaw and baked beans and donated it all. She also had so many community connections. If you ever needed to find something or someone, she usually knew where to go.
My deepest condolences to her family, friends and loved ones. She will be greatly missed!!

Donna ran the canteen for Strathroy Minor Hockey at West Middlesex Memorial Centre while I was the president of the Strathroy Rockets. Donna's hamburgers were renowned around the league as the very best. Opposing players, staff and the on-ice officials couldn't wait to get to WMMC for one of Donna's burgers. Even when on the road it was often mentioned to me that they were looking forward to their next trip to Strathroy for another one of those incredible burgers. Although the Rockets did not have the best record every year there was no doubt where the best canteen was. My condolences to Donna's family and friends.

My heart was so saddened to see that you have lost such an amazing force in all of your lives. I had the pleasure of getting to know Donna well the summer I directed at Kee-Mo-Kee. The staff and kids not only loved her but she made the dining hall such a fun place to be. I know she loved each week's camp as much as they loved her and late night raids in the kitchen by staff were always indulged. I can still see her face when 2 staff serenaded her with the song Donna. She will always bring a smile to my face when I think of her and our early morning chats over coffee. Sending all of you my deepest sympathies and love.

We have so many memories with Donna, these are just a few related to our minor hockey days. During the Minor Hockey Olympics making numerous jellos, “Olympic burgers”, fish dinners, driving the bus taking visiting parents for a tour of some local businesses and Donna’s never ending calls to referees! We always joked that we should write a book!
