We are very saddened to hear of Clare’s passing. He was the kindest most helpful neighbour (and Grandpa to our 3 children) who was always ready to lend a hand with whatever was needed. He was a great source of knowledge and experience of all things that grew from the earth. He loved to talk across the fence and regale us with all kinds of stories.
RIP dear Clare - you are with your beloved Helen and all those you had lost through the years.

We were so sorry to hear of Clare's passing. Great memories of when our families got together and the "Short Family' picnic. We also had good visits with Helen & Clare when we saw them at the tractor pulls. They liked to see Frank & Mary Verheyen pull their tractor.
I'm sure your folks are visiting now with my parents (Norm & Shirley) in heaven. Talking about weather, farming and family. But that's what all farmers talk about!

Our condolences to the Sutherland family on the loss of a father, grandfather he will be missed.
We have many fond memories of Clare over the years. He was the first neighbour we met when we moved to Adelaide Township. We would have many conversations on politics farming , hydro and even religion. Claire was a good neighbour, a good farmer and had a wealth of knowledge. He will be missed. May he Rest In Peace.

I remember a warm, slightly shy man with just a touch of wicked humour. I remember him laughing as he tried to teach his city slicker niece how to milk a cow. I remember how amazed I was when he squirted the milk straight from the cow into the cat’s mouth.
I remember how it was always Uncle Clare and Aunt Helen together.
There is surely a joyous reunion in heaven.
