We have always loved Aunt Elsie. Ivan remembers her as a historian of our family. Anytime he needed to remember a name or date of a family member, Aunt Elsie had the answer.
She was the calmest and nicest person he knew.
I didn’t get to meet her until 1992. Aunt Elsie left an impression on me.
She was a loving and caring person to her family.

What a lifetime of wonderful memories the family has to help take away the pain of loss. I am thankful that my parents, Bert and Doris, were lucky enough to have friends like Elsie and Alf. I remember Elsie as a very caring and kind person. Always with a warm greeting and smile, at a church or Legion function, or in the grocery store. Thoughts with Faye and Myrna as well as the rest of the family.

To all members of Elsie's family,
I had many mixed emotions when I heard of the passing of this wonderful lady.
Sadness for each of you on the loss of such a wonderful, loving happy Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma..
Happiness for me to think that Elsie and my Mom are back together again after all these years. I know they will be playing cards with our Dads and laughing out loud when they would win against those guys. I also know they will be organizing Auxiliary meetings and cooking dinners and making sandwiches for everyone. They will be saving a seat for each of us when it is our turn to join them and will welcome us with open arms and big hugs.
I am so proud to have been a part of the Hawkins family for so many years and pleased also with the kindness that was always shown to me by them.
Elsie lived a good long life and enjoyed all the moments along the way. She is resting peacefully now and we really cannot be sad for her but we can truly cherish all the memories we have of her.
Love to all the family.
You are in my sincere thoughts and prayers.
