Fons was one-of-a-kind: kind, warm, fun, interesting, entertaining. A model citizen. I am sure he has/had no regrets. I never heard him (ever) complain (about anything). Rare indeed. Uncle Alphons was an amazing person and I am blessed to have known him. He always seemed to have unique and ingenious solutions to everyday problems. I still remember the one legged milking stool that he wore while milking his cows. Just one of many simple solutions he had to everyday situations.

I have many memories of Mr. Jansen from my elementary school days when I used to come out to the farm and hang out with Jim to the last 18 plus years as his neighbour.
