I am very sad since I got the sad news about tia Alzira, she had been always in our thoughts and in our prayers. Although it was little time I spent with her but we created a great bond, she was a wonderful person, funny, simply adorable. We have nothing but great memories of her. We remember when we went to pick her up at the airport, for Jennifer's wedding, and we stopped t the gas station and Tony dropped gas on my blouse, and she never forgot the way I said: "Nossa Tony, tu me deste um banho de gasolina" she liked to remember that every time we had a chance to talk, as it became a great funny thing for us. And the day we tried to play a prank on uncle Frank, Irene, Vic and Michelle at the trailer, screaming fiiiiire, fiiiire and see them all jumping out of bed was precious, but Michelle was in a deep sleep didn't even move lol lol. It was great moments we spent with tia Alzira. She will be forever in our mind, in our memories, in our prayers. Despite the distance we always loved her and always will, forever in our heart.

Alzira's act of kindness will remain with me forever. Alzira was a generous and loving niece to my grandmother, Vavo Victorina, whom she visited often enjoying talking of times past. As Vavo Victorina, lay dying in hospital, Alzira, was one of the precious family members who was present to help Vavo Victorina transition to her new life with our Lord, providing Vavo comfort and love in her last moments on this earth. Alzira was an exceptional cousin to my aunts, Titia Artemisa, Titia Maria Jose and Titia Maria Jesus. Alzira and my aunts were more like sisters than cousins. They had a bond that was profound and stretched to Sao Miguel where they all were born and grew up as an enormous family sharing their their deep faith and love of the Lord. Alzira had a wonderful sense of humour and was able to brighten others' days with her laughter and fun-loving jokes. Her faith and spirit of generosity led her to seek to be of service to others. As told by my sisters, Alzira was a wonderful help to me as a baby as well. Because of my mom's illness and hospitalisation when I was born, Alzira extended a helping hand to my family and to me as a newborn infant by often taking me for my regular check-ups at the community medical clinic. Alzira will long be remembered for her faith, perseverance, her ability to find the silver lining even in extremely difficult circumstances and her spirit of giving throughout her life.

Sra Alzira took care of me when I was little. No matter when we saw each other she would embrace me with a big hug and share stories. She was such a kind woman. I am at a loss for words. What can I say my dear cousins. My heart goes out to all of you especially Gloria and Ivan and your beautiful kids and grandkids.
