I just found out on New Year's Day of Norma's passing. I have spent all day thinking about her. I have known Norma since the early 1960's when my Aunt Verna brought her to Nova Scotia's South Shore where my family had a cottage. My uncle Herman Pierce also owned a cottage down the lane. I was just a little girl then and Norma visited with us at our cottage many times over the years. She became a very special person to me, my mother and my family. I know she was special to my Uncle Herman, he loved her too! I have thought so much about Norma lately. I have come to the conclusion that she was the finest person I have ever known. God blessed her with an extraordinary kindness and a loving, gentle disposition. She touched so many lives in her nursing career and those that have the good fortune of being a friend of hers, have been blessed. Norma visited my husband and I a few years back at our home in Victoria. It was wonderful to see her again. I had hoped I might visit with her on a trip back east in the next year or so, but that is not to be. Norma, God called back one of his angels when he took you home on June 9, 2022. To Norma's family, I enjoyed yoga classes with Norma at Chelsey Park apartments, which were especially lovely being taught by her niece Sandi. I fondly remember getting phone calls “Are you in?” and Norma would be at the door a few minutes later with a tasty bag of muffins or cookies. Norma never sat in one spot at Thursday morning coffee group, but walked from table to table visiting everyone. She was a special lady and will be missed. I recall her photos and mementos from her nursing career. The memorial video is lovely. What a full and adventurous life she had! May cherished memories bring you peace and comfort. I remember Norma as my Easter Seals nurse! She helped me with receiving many mobility devices when I was a child. She was always a kind and caring person. Our deepest sympathy to Beryl and the Westgate families on the passing of Norma. She was a dear cousin, neighbour and friend. Norma always had a warm smile, and a joke/ conversation. She will be sadly missed.

Such a beautiful and giving sole! Norma was a terrific neighbour for 14 years -- the insightful conversations, the caring thoughts and always a laugh will be cherished by me and my family forever. I met Norma through Nancy Bol. Nancy said we would be a good fit. Norma was a gem and helped me through difficult times. She had an amazing life and never stopped giving. I know Norma is in heaven sharing her love still.

My sincere condolence are being sent to the family of Norma at this sad time. I have many fond memories of Norma in her capacity of helping young children with challenges in their lives. She helped me out at times and was a great person for my Mom to talk to about things. I have never forgotten her at all.
