Am very saddened to hear of johns passing. We had adjoining cabins at wasaga beach & worked the 8pm to 4am shift so someone was on the strip during the midnight shift change. We volunteered to do this for awhile but got along so well we kept it for the entire summer posting. I never remembered a problem between us although I was once amazed when he put ketchup on the steak I had barbequed. He truly will be missed. Dick Daughtrey #2949

I am very sorry to read of John's passing. My condolences to his family. He was a great guy to know and work with. I was in Intelligence Branch and first met him in the 80's when working in the Guelph area. John and his unit of Jim Russell and Jack Findlater were a pleasure to work with. Then years later I was able to work with John at GHQ. He will always be remembered. Dave Homenuck

I am very sorry to hear the news of Johns passing. I had the privilege of working with John in the OPP Security Branch. As the Detective Sergeant in the Lieutenant Governors Protection Detail he set an example for all of us by being a true police professional. We shared some protection adventures overseas and while in England had to learn to drive on the other side of the road in the first few hours of arriving. During those assignments John always talked about his family and it was evident how proud he was. My condolences to the Davis family. He was a fine police officer and a great guy.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I first met John in 1997 when he was my supervisor in the OPP Lieutentant Governor’s Protection Detail. I addressed him as Sergeant and he quickly told me to call him John. From that day on, he treated me like family. He taught me to drive in downtown Toronto and in England. No easy task! He was a great boss. He always spoke with pride about his family and it was clear the love he had for them all, especially his grandchildren. My condolences to Tom, Tim, Danny and families. He will be missed.
