Obituary of George Gerryts

On September 1st, 2022, George Gerryts passed peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice in London, Ontario following a lengthy battle with cancer. Loved and missed by his wife Lynne (Giffen), his son Brodij and his four-legged buddy, Tucker. Lovingly remembered by his siblings Lucy (Ted 2015), Angeline (Arend), Sid (Dianna), Tracy (Dave), Albert and Fay (Paul). Predeceased by his parents Harry (1994) and Tina (1995) as well as his great-nephew Lance and niece Lisa. Dearly missed by his in-laws, Gordon and Ila Giffen, Bonnie, Kim (Dave) and their families. He is also survived and missed by many nieces, nephews and relatives in Canada and the Netherlands. Love and heartfelt thanks to special friends John and Chris O'Sullivan and Dave and Leesa Round for their support over the past many months.

Special thanks to all the doctors and caregivers at the London hospitals, Cancer Clinic, St. Joseph's Hospice and those in the community for their kind and compassionate care. There are not enough kind words to thank all the very special and wonderful staff and volunteers at St. Joseph's Hospice. 

As per George's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Thursday, September 8^th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Private family interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice or Dunn with Cancer Research Foundation. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com
