Obituary of Rien Hoek

Catharinus Cornelis (Rien) van der Hoek passed peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2008, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Devoted husband for 63 years of the late Geertuida Maria (Truus) van der Hoek. Father of Harry (Kathy) van der Hoek of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Terry (John) McLaughlin of Strathroy. and Sylvia van der Hoek (Michael Klein) of Collingwood. Loving grandfather of Ronda van der Hoek (Brian Stephens) of Windsor, Nova Scotia. Kim van der Hoek (Dale Paziuk) of Vancouver, British Columbia. Edward McNichol and Pamela McNichol-Smith (Bill Smith) of London and great-grandfather of Kylie and Curtis Smith, Cameron and Colin Stephens, and Alina Paziuk. Also survived by many other extended family members including brothers Jon (Netherlands) and Baas (Goderich) van der Hoek, niece Cathy (John) Ross of Meaford, nephew Kieth (Gail) van der Hoek of Ripley, niece Karen (Doug) Dunlop of Kincardine, and a large extended family. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Canadian Legion in Ripley at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2008.
