Obituary of Helen Virginia Waun

Peacefully, Helen Virginia Waun (nee Klemm) passed at Strathroy Hospital on January 31, 2023, at the age of 93.

Loving and loved mother of her three children, Janet (Keith), Ralph (Taryn) and Joan (Jim).

Also survived by two very special people, her granddaughter Claire (Jesse), and her sister, Shirley Bohlman (Lorne 2012).

Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Eugene (2008) and her sister Marion Marsh (2016) (Don 2008).

Helen will be missed by all who knew her. Of special mention are her nephews and nieces and their families. The pictures, cards, pear jam and muffins brought her so much joy. Alan & Dolleen, who treated her like their own mother, and the special ladies at Trillium who came to play games, work on a puzzle, watch 25 Words together, or simply enjoy each other’s company.

A special thank you to Hospital Nurse Mandy who may just be an angel in disguise; the VON PSW’s at Trillium who treated her like their own grandmother, along with the loving support of Mandy, Krista, and Ashley. Thank you also to Dr. J, Vanderzwan & Sandy for years of wonderful, respectful and warm care.

Helen dedicated 32 years of volunteering on the Strathmere Lodge auxiliary and ,as per her wishes, anyone wishing to make a donation in her name, please consider the work so close to her heart.

Internment has taken place, and a private service held.
