Ruby was such an exceptional lady. My mother Mary Young enjoyed her company very much while Ruby was at Jake’s House. She was a very good friend to mom. They ate meals together, went to bing and crafts. I used to seat outside and chat and laugh with them in the nice weather. Before covid I had many meals with my mother and Ruby and also enjoyed her company and great sense of humour. We missed and thought of Ruby a lot when she left the retirement home. Our prayers go out to all her family.

We wish to send our condolences to all of Ruby's family and friends on the passing of our dear friend and sister in Christ Jesus.
We will miss our annual phone call from her each Christmas day. She was a very dear friend to us as was her beloved sister Polly.

I only met Ruby once, but she definitely left a lasting impression. As my late mother resided at Strathmere, I attempted to volunteer with the Auxiliary, but covid had other ideas! Late last fall I was paired with Ruby for a Walmart shopping trip.
One hour was not enough for that 98-year-old. One "main" goal - bridge mixture( don't ask a youngish Walmart employee, they have probably never heard of it!). Bridge mixture led to potato salad with egg( do you have a small fridge? - don't worry dear, I'll eat it all at supper), butter tarts with raisins, peach candies, anything with sugar, London, Lucan, Lobo, First Lobo Baptist (I am familiar with Caughlins). Ruby, it was a fun afternoon. Thank-you. Now you may have your well- deserved rest!
