My Dad.
When I think back to growing up with my Dad, he did leave some pretty fantastic memories. He taught me to play chess and cribbage. We used to watch Jeopardy together and I was always amazed by all the knowledge and facts he knew. He loved his geography and history, always taking out his trusty atlas if he needed to look something up or show me something.
Dad was a storyteller. I will never forget bonfires at the house on hwy 21 when he would make up spooky stories. One particular one about the "axe man" still makes me look over my shoulder when walking near woods at night. More recently he was telling me about memories from growing up. It's crazy to imagine a parent as a child, to me he was Dad. He grew up in a time very different from mine. It was fascinating to hear about, and I could easily picture him getting into all that mischief. My Dad had a full and eventful life. He had a friendly smile, a big laugh, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. I know he will be remembered by many. I love you Dad. Thank you for everything. You helped make me into the person I am today and I am grateful.
