Obituary of Margaret Emily Chambers
It is with heavy hearts the family of Margaret Chambers announce her passing on April 15, 2023 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of Raymond Chambers. Predeceased by her spouses Evan Howe (1993) and Ron Bruce (1989). Cherished Mother of the late Dale Evan Howe (1988), John Richard (Frances) Howe, Donna (Bryan) McConnell, and the late Gordon Edward Howe (1976). Proud grandma of Michelle (Paul) Cools, Gordon (Breanne) Howe, James Howe, Laura (Marc) Labine, Krista (Jeff) Peters and David Roemmele. Stepmother of Allen Bruce, Miles (Yvonne) Chambers and Andrew Chambers (Sherri Capson). Step-grandma of Aaron Chambers, Ryan (Jen) Chambers, Bryson McConnell and Lesleigh Rhiel. She will be missed by many great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Jessie and John T. Crawford. She will be missed by her special friend Elizabeth Sutherland.
Margaret loved to travel. Ray and Margaret drove down to Arizona to escape the cold winters for 27 years. She enjoyed attending Friday night dances and Jamborees. Margaret was an avid sport fan, of many sport teams- the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs and the London Knights. Margaret was very social and loved to entertain her family and friends. She was a long-time faithful member of Riverside United Church and the Melbourne United Church and will be missed by her church community.
Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on April 19th, 2023 from 6:00-8:00pm. A funeral service will take place the following day on April 20th, 2023 at the funeral home at 11:00am. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Riverside United Church or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
